I have wondered this but never asked, for fear of seeming like a "noob". anyway, we all know there are different clothing with different buffs, and for certain clothing you must be level 50, 40, 45, ect.
My question...
Say you are preparing for the upcoming tournament that requires master assissan (thrown). Would it be better to have clothing that might be lvl 45 but with 3% thrown accuracy or damage than to have level 50 clothing with a couple more points of thrown defense but maybe only 1% of thrown damage bonus?

thats a tough call that i have wrestled with with every loadout...that sorta thing even transcends the matrix to other games....pvp and pve.
i think conventional wisdom is to have as much acc+damage as possable. So acc+damage is MOST peoples strength...how do you counter your opponents strengths? either with more acc+damage or with as much def+res as possable....i USUALLY prefere more def+res and more so in a 1v1. I prefere that option because im used to fighting people who generally have better gear then me (i hate farming!), if they have better gear then it is going to be dam hard to directly compeate with their strengths.
there are a number of other reasons why i usually prefer def+res....
they will run outa IS/mana/energy whatever eventually if you have enough def+res defense wins championships!...lessons from football ftw! theres no such thing as LOW acc+dam when your oppenant has low def+res...but there is such a thing as LOW def+res when your opponent has low acc+dam. (please dont ask me to make this make since!)
I used the word "ususally" alot because in the end all things are relative...there are situtiations where you want more acc+dam or vice versa. everyone should strive to be flexable enough to switch between the two options at will AND learn to recognize WHEN to use one option over the other....unfortunatly I dont tihnk anyone could really teach that...its just something you have to "see for your self"
