Variel: Void. I've been looking for you.
EndlessVoid: ... Looks like you've found me.
Variel: I need to ask you some questions.
Variel: I'm told you might have some information we need.
EndlessVoid: I see.
Variel: EPN's redpill extraction points have come under attack recently. Do you know anything about that?
EndlessVoid: Extraction of humans is of little interest to me...
EndlessVoid: ... Unless they happened to be coming from a field with independent power. That would change things
Variel: What is the connection between the Sleepers, the Legion, and the Bookwyrms?
Variel: We think that Seven, Jezebeth, and Teacher are involved somehow.
Variel: Do you know anything about them?
EndlessVoid: ... Well, they'e all Exile gangs, obviously. But thw Bookwyrms work for Hypatia, which means that they only make deals when archived information is concerned...
EndlessVoid: The Legion can be worked in under the premise of something supernatural, and the Sleepers are easy enough to conscript as a military force... If anything unusual is in this, it'll be of interest to the Archivist society.
Variel: Did you know about the attacks on our REPs?
EndlessVoid: As I said, I don't follow human extraction...
EndlessVoid: ... But generally attacks on EPN REPs are the work of those who don't want new awakenings, no?
EndlessVoid: You might want to look at who you've been trying to bring out of the System.
EndlessVoid: Including what systems their pods are networked to.
Variel: Are you suggesting that they're connected to an independent power field?
EndlessVoid: Not necessarily... I saw some pods recently that had been disconnected from the Machine network, and were powering some independent lines... I haven't been able to figure out where they lead yet.
EndlessVoid: ... That may or may not be relevant to your efforts.
Variel: What about blue code. Does that mean anything to you?
EndlessVoid: Sounds like a Sleepwalker thing.
EndlessVoid: If I could actually see the code, I might be able to tell you whether any of it is blue... But I can't.
EndlessVoid: Color is often a byproduct of association, though...
EndlessVoid: Then again, no one likes sabotaging REPs quite like the Cypherites...
Variel: Are sleepwalkers the only entities that leave a blue code signature? Or are there others?
EndlessVoid: They're the only ones as far as I know...
EndlessVoid: Again, the Sleepwalkers came after I had already lost my sight, so I can only go on what I've heard from others.
EndlessVoid: But their lights and their code were reportedly blue.
Variel: People say you know more about the code than what meets the eye, however.
EndlessVoid: Feeling it and seeing it are two different things.
Variel: Do you think that independent power fields might have anything to do with Exile gangs?
EndlessVoid: ... It's a good theory. Exiles draw their power from the excess floating around the Matrix.
Variel: "The Floating Feast."
EndlessVoid: Exactly.
EndlessVoid: If the Exile gangs in question had a way of influencing the Real world... they might be able to siphon power from its source - the pods.
EndlessVoid: ... Then again, most programs have no form in the Real.
Variel: The commandos and the General are notable exceptions.
Variel: But then, you know that all too well.
EndlessVoid: Indeed.
Variel: Have you ever heard of Teacher, Seven, or Jezebeth being able to influence events in the Real?
EndlessVoid: No... I think if they could, they'd try to make a grab for power on their own, without allying with the other gangs...
EndlessVoid: Any of them might have appropriate resources, though.
EndlessVoid: The Bookwyrms have access to the Archivists' work. The Legion have their cult... the Sleepers might have some military connections with the General.
EndlessVoid: ... Unfortunately, they could all easily gain access to Machine hosts. One way or another.
Variel: Perhaps by some form of collaboration...
Variel: You sound curious about the destination of those power lines . . . do you continue your investigation?
EndlessVoid: Yes.
EndlessVoid: I'm... looking for someone.
EndlessVoid: An old friend from an old life.
Variel: If you find anything that could help us . . . perhaps we could find some way to exchange information again.
EndlessVoid: Perhaps.
Variel: Void, you have been helpful - please stay in touch.
EndlessVoid: As well as I am able...
