good news: i won my fight lastnight! though it was not as dramatic as my first fight. i think i only landed one strike and it was an accidental kick to the groin. I apologized since I wanted to kick him in the leg instead. After that, I took him down pretty easily, defended a choke and got into side control. I saw the opportunity for a kimura (shoulder lock), went for it and got it. round 1 submission! unfortunately, my family arrived late and missed the fight, so I don't have it on film yet. They venue filmed it and as soon as I get my hands on it, I'll post it here. here is a video of a kimura submission so you can see what it is. |

The bad news is that I should get the video in about 2 weeks.
The good news is that it will be a professionally filmed and edited video including interviews and stuff.

Won my 3rd fight this past saturday. It was a pretty good fight. I took a few punches and knees but returned the favor in hammer fists, elbows, a few knees of my own and a slam. Video is on it's way.
And the video from fight #2 last month should be up by the end of the week.

Here's an update on what's going on in my life: I've been at my new job for about 6 months. Made a lot of friends and such. I took on a part time job where I used to work. I can't wait for that first week where I get 2 paychecks! Plus I got a job offer from an old friend I met up with when I started fighting. It'll be more money if I move over and I can train at his dedicated MMA gym. Oh yeah, I was asked if I wanted to fight for the title in my weight class in Oct. I accepted, of course! The fight is the day before my 31st birthday. I hope this kid doesn't feel bad about getting beat up by an old man. ;D Oh, and here is my next project: www.mccarriedesign.com/wooden_dummy/Can't wait to work that wooden dummy drill! Though I plan on making a "castle" toy chest for my daughter by Christmas. And the best news yet: we are pregnant again! We'll find out what it is in another month. I'm crossing fingers for a son, of course. |

Since V did it, I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon and give an update of my own.
I made it through "boot-camp" at work and I am now officially writing code for insurance software (well not right now obviously. I dont have any projects to do so I figured I'd write this). It is going good. I still am not used to the 5-day workweeks. Having Fridays off during my internship really spoiled me. Still the weeks are going by rather quickly.
I have also started working on computers in my free time. So far it is just by "word of mouth", but I just cleaned a laptop yesterday and have two other people waiting for me to fix various problems with their computers, and another person interested in me building a comptuer for her.
I am getting ready to celebrate a one-year anniversary with my girl-friend (Sept. 4th), which is currently the longest relationship I have ever been in. Things are going good though.
Before I celebrate that though, I am flying to California with my father next Friday (Aug. 27th) for a 3 day convention (I get to meet power rangers).
My 26th birthday is fast approaching and I am not too thrilled about that.
I am also slowly remodeling the upstairs of my house, starting with my own bedroom of course.
